Cleaning methods

for technical parts and workpieces

PERO develops and manufactures units for parts cleaning that work with tried and tested wet cleaning media.

Wet media are used to clean and rinse parts. Certain substances serve as preservation agents, while others modify the surface properties of parts.

CLEANING WITH AQUEOUS MEDIA

Depending on the actual process, PERO cleaning units are run with acidic, neutral or alkaline wet media. The wet medium is produced by adding chemicals to fresh or treated water, whereby the chemical composition depends on the actual task, such as cleaning, rinsing or surface treatment

CLEANING WITH SOLVENTS

The most commonly used solvents are modified alcohols, hydrocarbons and halogenated hydrocarbons. For each task such as cleaning or rinsing, machine operators must choose the most suitable solvent. Solvents do not have any effect on the surface properties of parts.

CLEANING WITH COMBINED WET MEDIA

For certain applications, a combination of aqueous media and solvents is the best solution. Alternatively, parts can be treated with wet media in different units arranged along a cleaning line.

To assess the commercial viability and environmental impact of a cleaning method, the energy required for cleaning and subsequent drying, and the medium treatment costs and processes must be examined in detail. Such assessments must be completed for each individual application, in order to identify the most suitable solution.
